The maiden edition of the Schools Sports Foundation Osun Governor’s Cup has entered the Semi-Final stage with four teams set for what analysts believe will be a fierce battle for slots in the final.
On Thursday, Anglican Grammar School, Ile-Ife mauled Ede Muslim Grammar School, with six unreplied goals.
Afolabi Rasheed opened scoring in the third minute, Akinola Kehinde and Oyesunbola Iyanuoluwa scored a brace each, before Akinlabi Marvelous crowned it up , to take the goal tally to six against the Ede based School.
In the other Semifinal game on Thursday, Community Grammar School, Iperindo defeated Ansarudeen Grammar School by a lone goal.
On Friday, Lanreleke Sports Academy, became the third team to book a spot in the Semi-Finals after they impressively defeated Inisa Grammar School, by six goals to one.
Godspower Mujiri and Promise Oghenero scored a brace each, while Uzoka Richard and Lawal Ibrahim rounded off the game with their goals.
Fans favourite Peter Oyeniran scores twice to put his team, Ataoja School Of Science in the Semi-Finals. The Osogbo based School won Ijebu Ijesa Grammar School, by five goals to three.
It will be Community Grammar School Iperindo against Ataoja School of Science in the first Semi final pairing.
The game will be played on Monday, by 10am, while Ife Anglican Grammar School will face Lanreleke Sports Academy in the second semifinals by 12 noon on Monday. All games will be played at the Ataoja School Of Science, Osogbo.
